Google Jamboard

Picture
Jamboard is a cloud-based app that enables visual collaboration between users in real-time. It can be used as a virtual whiteboard for remote teaching in both a live (synchronous) and pre-recorded (asynchronous) format. Different Jamboards can be shared with multiple students so that they can view/edit the Jamboard promoting collaboration and more interactivity.
It synchronises easily with Google Classroom where you can share a specific whiteboard with an entire class group so that they have access to work that was created or a copy of a virtual whiteboard can be made for each student where they could work on the whiteboard themselves in a task.

Applications of Google Jamboard

  • Model skills like Maths, Art, note-taking, and other competencies whose mastery can be encouraged through modelling for students.
  • Collaborate on projects in project-based learning–either between the teacher and students or between students.
  • Brainstorm ideas collaboratively–for writing, projects, and more.
  • Concept-map problems and solutions while using inquiry-based learning.
  • Use in a flipped classroom setting to allow peer groups to collaborate in real-time in class or at home.
  • Use during remote teaching and learning as an online ‘chalk board’ to lead activities, check for understanding, and more
